We recommend that most of your charging is done from the comfort of your home as it’s usually a cost effective and convenient way to charge – as easy as plugging in your phone. The fastest way to charge at home is with a professionally installed home charger.
Before you purchase your vehicle, our preferred home charging providers will help you check the suitability of your property. Installation can depend on factors including the age of your property, availability of private off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.

2. COMPLETE YOUR SUITABILITY SURVEY
A quick survey with your charging provider will determine your home’s suitability for a wall box. General requirements include off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.
3. ARRANGE YOUR INSTALLATION DATE
Agree on an installation date with your chosen provider, ensuring that it is before the delivery date of your vehicle. If you qualify for a government grant to help with the cost, your provider may claim this on your behalf.
4. GET SET TO START CHARGING
Once your installation date comes around, your provider will fit your wall box and talk you through the basics of charging.

Not only does plugging in overnight keep your charging routine simple, it also means you could benefit from lower EV costs and a renewable energy promise from several providers.

HOW DO I CHARGE AWAY FROM HOME?
To connect to a charging point, your vehicle uses a Combined Charging System (CCS). This is compatible with slower AC charging speeds, and on select models, rapid DC charging speeds. Some other vehicle manufacturers use different systems for charging such as CHAdeMO. These are incompatible with Range Rover electric vehicles.
Slower AC charging stations are commonly found at shopping centers, gyms, and parking lots. Rapid DC fast chargers are typically located along highways and main roads.
RAPID DC CHARGING
On select models, the lower half of your vehicle’s CCS inlet features two pins that combine with three of the pins above to provide rapid DC charging (up to 50kW) typically on highways and main roads. The two lower pins can be accessed by removing the lower socket cover.

HOW DO I PAY FOR CHARGING?

Although some charge points are free to use, the majority are accessible via convenient pay-as-you-go methods, including mobile apps, membership accounts, or a contactless bank card. The cost of charging will typically be a combination of a connection fee, charging time (cost per hour) and/or the amount of energy used (cost per kWh).
We recommend familiarizing yourself with more than one provider to ensure the best coverage and payment methods at your destination.

MONITOR AND CONTROL FROM YOUR PHONE
Once you’ve simply plugged in and walked away, your Land Rover Vehicle's InControl App sends your charging status to your phone. So wherever you are, you can plan your time productively and be ready to get back out there without missing a beat.
At home, your app’s timed charging feature can even be used to schedule charging during the daily window of off-peak electricity and lower EV rates offered by many home energy providers.
ELECTRIC HYBRID CHARGING TIMES
Our figures for rapid DC charging points – typically found at highway service stations and main roads – are quoted up to 80%. This is because the charging speed slows down significantly above 80% to protect the battery and optimize its life32.

DOMESTIC SOCKETS PROVIDE ADDED REASSURANCE
If you’re away for longer periods and no home charger is available, your standard domestic plug socket used for household electrical items will also charge your vehicle. An hour of charging allows for up to 3 miles of range.32
For charging your vehicle using a domestic socket, a Mode 2 cable is available with purchase.
