MAXIMISE YOUR EV RANGE WITH PRECONDITIONING

Preconditioning allows you to heat or cool your cabin and battery while your Range Rover is plugged in. This uses energy from the mains and preserves the energy in the battery to maximise driving range.

To set up preconditioning, download the iGuide app below and search ‘preconditioning’.

CHARGING CABLES

Range Rover is compatible with three types of charging cables for different power sources. Public and wall box AC charging cables (mode 3), tethered rapid DC charging cables and domestic charging cables (mode 2) Mode 3 charging cables are included with your vehicle.

CHARGING CONNECTORS

Your Range Rover uses a Combined Charging System (CCS). This is compatible with slower AC charging speeds and, on selected models, rapid DC charging speeds. Some manufacturers use different systems which are incompatible with Range Rover electric vehicles.

OFF-PEAK ELECTRICITY TARIFFS

Plugging in overnight will keep your charging routine simple and help you benefit from the lower EV tariffs offered by many home energy providers. Using your vehicle’s 'preferred charging period’ function means you can charge during the off-peak electricity window.

To set up your preferred charging period, download the iGuide app below and search vehicle charging’.

MAXIMISE THE LIFE OF YOUR BATTERY

Follow these simple tips for an efficient and longer-lasting battery.

USE RAPID DC CHARGING SPARINGLY

If rapid DC charging is used to charge to full too often it can strain the battery. To keep your vehicle in optimum charging range, set the maximum charge level to 80 percent.

MAINTAIN AN EVEN CHARGE

Prevent battery degradation by charging your Range Rover only when needed. Try to keep the charge between 30-80 percent, charging to full only when undertaking longer journeys.

CARE IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES

Extreme cold or heat can affect battery lifespan. Keep your car plugged into a home charger and the thermal management technology will maintain the battery at the optimal temperature.

Take care in cold conditions. Driving too fast can put stress on the battery and impact efficiency.

DRIVE YOUR CAR REGULARLY

Your vehicle loses small amounts of charge when parked. Leaving it for long periods with little to no charge can affect the performance of the battery. Take your car out for short, regular trips.

OUR ELECTRIC BATTERY WARRANTY

For your peace of mind, we guarantee the battery in your electric vehicle for eight years and 160.000km (100.000 miles) and electric hybrid for six years or 100.000km (60.000 miles) whichever comes first. And while it’s under warranty, our EV experts will fix any manufacturing defects free of charge.

In fact, the rare occurrence of a battery issue is generally caused by a single cell. The module containing this cell can easily be replaced to return the pack to its peak performance.

DRIVING MODES

When in the default driving mode of your plug-in hybrid (PHEV), optimise fuel economy or battery charge by utilising one of two alternative charge management functions.

Discovery Infotainment System

SAVE FUNCTION

Manually selected through the vehicle’s Touchscreen, the Save function prevents the battery charge dropping below your chosen level. On selected models, this function also allows the battery to be recharged on the move. This allows you to preserve quiet, zero-emission travel for a later point in the journey.

PREDICTIVE ENERGY OPTIMISATION (PEO) FUNCTION

Entering a destination in your navigation system will automatically engage your vehicle’s PEO function. By using geographical data to predict the road ahead, PEO intelligently switches between the electric motor and petrol engine to maximise fuel economy throughout the journey. This also minimises tailpipe emissions in urban areas.
