SETTING UP

THE BENEFITS OF BEING CONNECTED

To get the most from your Range Rover’s connected services and subscriptions, it’s important that you first set up your InControl account and register your vehicle1.

Doing so will give you access to the features at the heart of your Range Rover’s infotainment system, including Bluetooth media, hands-free calls2, live traffic, navigation and charging destination mapping. Please ensure your SIM card is installed and activated during set up.

OPTIMISING EVERY DAY

PRECONDITIONING

Heat or cool your cabin before a journey with preconditioning. When plugged in, your Range Rover uses mains power instead of its battery, helping preserve energy and maximise driving range.

To set up preconditioning, download the iGuide App below and search ‘preconditioning’.

OFF-PEAK ELECTRICITY TARIFFS

Plugging in overnight will keep your charging routine simple and help you benefit from the lower EV tariffs offered by many home energy providers, with the potential of lower rates and 100% renewable energy.

Using your vehicle’s ‘preferred charging period’ function means you can charge during the off-peak electricity window. To set up your preferred charging period, download the iGuide App below and search ‘vehicle charging’.

SAVE FUNCTION

Manually selected through the vehicle’s Touchscreen, the Save function prevents the battery charge dropping below your chosen level. This allows you to preserve quiet, zero tailpipe emissions whilst driving.

PREDICTIVE ENERGY OPTIMISATION (PEO) FUNCTION

Entering a destination in your navigation system will automatically engage your vehicle’s PEO function. By using geographical data to predict the road ahead, PEO intelligently switches between the electric motor and petrol engine to help maximise fuel economy throughout the journey. This also helps minimise tailpipe emissions whilst driving in urban areas.

HYBRID MODE

Your default driving mode automatically selects between the petrol engine and electric battery to meet the power and torque required for your journey.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) MODE

Manually selected by a button on your console, EV mode maximises your time spent using electric power. The system will automatically introduce the petrol engine if more power is required than is available through electricity alone.

MAXIMISING THE LIFE OF YOUR BATTERY

Follow these simple tips for an efficient and longer-lasting battery.

USE RAPID DC CHARGING SPARINGLY

Adopting a balanced charging approach supports battery longevity. Where possible, moderating frequent high power DC charging and limiting the state of charge to 80% helps maintain long-term battery health.

MAINTAIN AN EVEN CHARGE

To help support long-term battery health and performance, it is recommended to operate the battery primarily within a 30-80% state of charge.

CARE IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES

Extreme cold or heat can affect battery lifespan. Keeping your car plugged in at home will allow the thermal management technology to help maintain the battery at the optimal temperature.

DRIVE YOUR CAR REGULARLY

Your vehicle loses small amounts of charge when parked. Leaving it for long periods with little to no charge can affect the performance of the battery. Take your car out for short, regular trips.

REASSURANCE GOES WHERE YOU GO

Unlike the much smaller version of a Lithium-ion battery found inside your laptop or mobile phone, a Range Rover battery uses sophisticated liquid-cooling systems and a smart buffer that helps to protect from the wearing effects of constant charging.

We guarantee the traction battery in Range Rover Electric for eight years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km)4, and Range Rover Electric Hybrids for eight years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km)4 – whichever comes first.
