We recommend that most of your charging is done from the comfort of your home as it’s usually the cheapest and most convenient way to charge – as easy as plugging in your phone. The fastest way to charge at home is with a professionally installed home charger.
Before you purchase your vehicle, our preferred home charging providers will help you check the suitability of your property. Installation can depend on factors including the age of your property, availability of private off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.
YOUR THREE SIMPLE STEPS TO INSTALLATION
1. COMPLETE YOUR SUITABILITY SURVEY
A quick survey with your charging provider will determine your home’s suitability for a wall box. General requirements include off-street parking and an appropriate power supply.
2. ARRANGE YOUR INSTALLATION DATE
Agree an installation date with your provider as per your convenience.
3. GET SET TO START CHARGING
Once your installation date comes around, your provider will fit your wall box and talk you through the basics of charging.
TETHERED VS. UNTETHERED WALL BOXES
Many providers offer a choice of tethered and untethered wall boxes.
For convenience, tethered wall boxes include a fixed cable that connects the unit to your vehicle. For more flexibility, untethered wall boxes use the charging cable stored in your vehicle.
OFF-PEAK ELECTRICITY TARIFFS
Not only does plugging in overnight keep your charging routine simple, it also means you could benefit from lower EV tariffs and a renewable energy promise from several providers.
Specific charging times can be set via your Range Rover InControl smartphone app2.

As the charging infrastructure continues to grow, there are now more places than ever to conveniently charge away from home.
Find, charge, and pay away from home with an extensive network of charging stations, and access to the Tesla Supercharger network1.
The majority of destination charging points around towns and cities require the use of your own charging cable. This is included with your electric or electric hybrid vehicle as standard. And just like at home, it can be used in all weather.
TRACK YOUR CHARGING PROGRESS ANYWHERE
MONITOR AND CONTROL FROM YOUR PHONE
Once you’ve simply plugged in and walked away, your Range Rover’s InControl App1,2 sends your charging status to your mobile. So wherever you are, you can plan your time productively and be ready to get back out there without missing a beat.
At home, your app’s timed charging feature can even be used to schedule charging during the daily window of off-peak electricity and lower EV tariffs offered by many home energy providers.
ELECTRIC HYBRID CHARGING TIMES
Our figures for rapid DC charging points – typically found at motorway service stations and main roads – are quoted up to 80%. This is because the charging speed slows down significantly above 80% to protect the battery and optimise its life.

DOMESTIC SOCKETS PROVIDE ADDED REASSURANCE
If you’re away for longer periods and no home charger is available, your standard domestic plug socket used for household electrical items will also charge your vehicle. An hour of charging allows for up to 9 km of range.
